FAQ

Questions we get every week.

Is health insurance mandatory for employees in Dubai?

Yes. Dubai law requires all employers to provide health insurance for their employees. The DHA mandates a minimum level of cover known as the Essential Benefits Plan (EBP). Failure to comply can result in visa processing being blocked.

Can spouses and children be added to the policy?

Yes. Dependants — spouses, children and sometimes parents — can be added to most plans. Some visa categories require proof of health insurance for dependent visa issuance. We can arrange this alongside the main employee policy.

What is the Essential Benefits Plan (EBP)?

The EBP is the minimum DHA-mandated health cover for employees earning AED 4,000 or less per month. It covers emergency treatment, basic outpatient, and maternity. We can source EBP plans as well as enhanced mid-range and premium options.

How quickly can you get coverage started?

Once we receive all employee details and the plan is confirmed, coverage can typically begin within 2–3 working days. Urgent cases can sometimes be activated within 24 hours depending on the insurer.

Do you handle renewals or just new policies?

Both. We manage renewals, re-shopping the market each year to ensure you remain on the most competitive plan. We also handle mid-term additions when new employees join.
